We’ll be joining the Lucas Founders Day parade for our October ride. So break out the costumes for you and your horse and join us! The town will be serving food after the parade at the Town Hall pavilion.

When – Saturday, Oct 22, 2016 – Parade starts at noon, you should arrive before 10am, since you’ll have to check-in with the parade desk and get your costume(s) on.
Where – Lucas Town Hall – Horse trailer parking will be across the street at the Lucas Vet Hospital (we’ll have someone on hand to direct the parking)
What to bring – A COSTUME! and your Coggins. Hamburgers and hotdogs served afterwards at the Town Hall pavilion.

We’ll be working at Brockdale trailhead and north of the trailhead. Another organization may paint the metal fencing at Brockdale for us, so to prepare for them, we’ll clear the trailhead fenceline of overhanging branches and tall grass. Then the trail could use some serious trimming going north from the trailhead to the second Raptor Center gate.

When – 9am till noon, Saturday, Oct 8, 2016

What to bring – Gloves, long sleeves, water, loppers, weed whackers (with replacement string – there’s a lot of thick grass to whack!)

Weather forecast looks good for this morning, so the workday is on.

We’ll go north from Highland Park to inspect the trail, rain forecast permitting. Be sure to check this website for last minute updates on Saturday morning.

When – Saturday, Sept 24, 8am
Where – Highland Park trailhead
What to bring – water, gloves, long sleeves, bug spray

This will be a morning ride from Brockdale, the trails are in great shape so bring a riding friend and come on out!

When – 930am rideout, we’ll cook Hamburgers and Hot Dogs for a noon lunch

What to bring – horse(s), friends, chairs, Coggins!

We’ll be installing a vehicle gate to close off illegal access to the trail. We’ll meet at Highland Park to pick up the gate, then move to the Lucas Rd Underpass to install it. Also picking up trash and clearing the path to the underpass.

When – 8am, Saturday, Aug 13, 2016
Where – Highland Park trailhead
What to bring – water! bug spray! gloves and long sleeves! Weed whackers or handheld brush/weed cutters.

We’ll work on the leaking faucet at Brockdale and patch the roof leak on the toilet.

When – 830am, Saturday, July 9, 2016
Where – Brockdale
What to Bring – water, work gloves, we’ll bring shovels/ladders etc.

Weather’s too hot and the lake is too high!

Stay cool and practice safe riding and hiking!

We’ll inspect the trail at Highland Park and determine if there is a go-around to bypass the high lake water at the two low points north and south of the trailhead.

What to bring – water, bug spray, gloves, loppers

Schedule conflicts – we’re cancelling this Friday Weekday Workday. However, there is still a Saturday Workday at Collin Park if you are so minded.

We’re going to try a new technique for erosion control on the trail. Our first demo site will be the erosion trench just south of the Brockdale trailhead.

When – 9am, Friday June 10, 2016

What to bring – bug spray for chiggers! water, gloves, spade, rake, loppers

We’ll mow and clear the trail through Collin Park and at the picnic table. We’ll meet inside Collin Park, by their maintenance building, so tell the gate guard you are there to work on the Trail and he/she will wave you through.
